Resumo: The workplace incivility is understood as a rough and impolite behavior with no clear intentionality of damage. This behavior has become a common occurrence in the workplace and is considered a type of daily annoyance or chronic stressor for individuals (ANDERSON; PEARSON, 1999). Studies on labor incivility in North America reveal a high rate of occurrence of this phenomenon (SCHILPZAND, et al., 2014); however, weren‟t found no Brazilian studies that verify the indices of incivility at work. Thus, the objective of this study was to carry out the transcultural adaptation of the workplace incivility scale and its validation in the Brazilian context. For that, an exploratory-descriptive research, of qualitative and quantitative character, was carried out. With regard to the research strategy, a Survey was performed. It began with the stages of translation, synthesis, retranslation, analysis of the committee of specialists and pre-test of the workplace incivility scale. The psychometric properties of the scale were then verified. This stage of the study consisted in the application of the survey to 913 employees of an organization at the outsourced services sector. The data obtained were analyzed with the support of the R Studio software, using statistics from CTT (Classical Test Theory) and IRT (Item Response Theory). The main results allowed the validation of the workplace incivility scale, demonstrating a good discrimination and quality of the items and showing the stability of the instrument. Regarding the uncivil behaviors suffered by the sample studied, the data obtained in this analysis indicated that the general average of incivility at work was 1.78, which shows a low occurrence of the attitudes evaluated. However, even if the occurrence is low, it is important that the organization pay attention to the behaviors presented, since they can open space for other forms of incivility, just as they can leave gaps for the manifestation of other types of violence in the work environment. It is understood, therefore, that the study contributed to broaden the considerations about the incivility in the workplace, addressing a theme often ignored, but that is present in the organizational daily. It is also believed that the main contribution of the study was to carry out the cross-cultural adaptation and the validation of a pioneer scale in assessing the uncivil behaviors in the work environment. In the same way, this instrument allows an advance in the studies made in Brazil, that can use a scale that provides a reliable evaluation of the construct.

In the same way, this instrument allows an advance in the studies made in Brazil, that can use a scale that provides a reliable evaluation of the construct.A incivilidade no trabalho é entendida como um comportamento rude e descortês sem intencionalidade clara de dano. Esse comportamento tem se tornado uma ocorrência comum nos locais de trabalho, sendo considerado um tipo de aborrecimento diário ou estressor crônico para os indivíduos (ANDERSON; PEARSON, 1999). Estudos sobre incivilidade no trabalho na América do Norte revelam um alto índice de ocorrência deste fenômeno (SCHILPZAND, et al.,2014), no entanto não foram encontrados estudos brasileiros que verifiquem os índices de incivilidade no trabalho. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo constituiu em realizar a adaptação transcultural da escala de incivilidade no trabalho e sua validação no contexto brasileiro. Para tanto, fez-se uma pesquisa exploratório-descritiva, de caráter qualitativo e quantitativo. No que se refere à estratégia de pesquisa, foi realizada uma Survey. Iniciou-se com as etapas de tradução, síntese, retradução, análise do comitê de especialistas e pré-teste da escala de incivilidade no trabalho. Na sequência, verificaram-se as propriedades psicométricas da escala. Essa etapa do estudo consistiu na aplicação da pesquisa a 913 trabalhadores de uma organização do setor de serviços terceirizados. Os dados obtidos foram analisados com o apoio do software R Studio, por meio de estatísticas da TCT (Teoria Clássica dos Testes) e da TRI (Teoria da Resposta ao Item). Os principais resultados encontrados permitiram a validação da escala de incivilidade no trabalho, demostrando uma boa discriminação e qualidade dos itens e evidenciando a estabilidade do instrumento. Com relação aos comportamentos incivis sofridos pela amostra pesquisada, os dados obtidos nesta análise indicaram que a média geral de incivilidade no trabalho foi de 1,78, o que evidencia uma baixa ocorrência das atitudes avaliadas. Porém, mesmo a ocorrência sendo baixa, é importante que a organização dê atenção aos comportamentos apresentados, já que eles podem abrir espaço para outras formas de incivilidade, da mesma forma que podem deixar lacunas para a manifestação de outros tipos de violência no ambiente laboral. Entende-se assim, que o estudo contribuiu para ampliar as considerações acerca da incivilidade no trabalho, tratando de uma temática muitas vezes ignorada, mas que se faz presente no cotidiano organizacional. Acredita-se também que a principal contribuição do estudo foi a de realizar a adaptação transcultural e a validação de uma escala pioneira em avaliar os comportamentos incivis no ambiente de trabalho. Da mesma forma que, este instrumento permite um avanço nos estudos realizados no Brasil, que podem utilizar uma escala que proporciona uma avaliação confiável do construto.porUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Sociais e HumanasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em AdministraçãoUFSMBrasilAdministraçãoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessIncivilidade no trabalhoAdaptação transculturalValidaçãoWorkplace incivilityCross-cultural adaptationValidationCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ADMINISTRACAOAdaptação e validação transcultural da escala de incivilidade no trabalhoAdaptation and cross-cultural validation of the workplace incivility scaleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisCosta, Vânia Medianeira Floreshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0180563343119839Moreira Junior, Fernando de Jesushttp://lattes.cnpq.br/1268711809269176Abaid, Josiane Lieberknecht Wathierhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6327242584611616Cúnico, Sabrina Daianahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8103167636945609Estivalete, Vania de Fátima Barroshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6802457117269462http://lattes.cnpq.br/9046167215415373Tonin, Stefania600200000006600da859cd3-c705-4552-b11a-72057c9325bbbdd88a48-5eb5-4c08-8348-5eba0758ec12882536ec-b571-41fc-9928-dcd29fd1ae3ef4f45825-6758-4bab-bec3-d31393e5673121d09f91-7a7c-4b0c-8616-c8a45c38de821b495e5e-a487-492d-9c9c-4b3725b6a7b1reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALTES_PPGADMINISTRACAO_2018_TONIN_STEFANIA.pdfTES_PPGADMINISTRACAO_2018_TONIN_STEFANIA.pdfTese de Doutoradoapplication/pdf1540297http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/16370/1/TES_PPGADMINISTRACAO_2018_TONIN_STEFANIA.pdfef4b97a850e2009b87c4381d72120489MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
