Resumo: | Leaf rust, causative agent Puccinia triticina, is one of the main diseases of wheat culture, and it may cause losses of up to 63% of whole grains yield. Some control alternatives have been studied in order to control this disease, and the biological control using bio products with the fungus trichoderma are really researched. The plant nutrition with silicon has showed itself as an important factor in the mitigation against attack of pathogens. Therefore, this article aimed at evaluating trichoderma and potassium silicate in the development and severity of wheat leaf rust. In order to evaluate the effect of trichoderma in seeds and wheat plants in their initial stage, the commercial products Trichodermil® and Ecotrich® were used. The used treatments were: T1- Control, T2- 1,11 mL of Trichodermil®, T3- 2,22 mL of Trichodermil®, T4- 1,2 g of Ecotrich®, T5- 1,0 g of Ecotrich®, T6- 0,80 g of Ecotrich® e T7- 0,60 g of Ecotrich® (doses for 1000 g of seeds). The following aspects were evaluated: promotion of germination, emergency, root length, root area, areal length and quantity of plant dry matter. With the goal of evaluating the influence of trichoderma and potassium silicate in the plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers and severity of the disease in greenhouse, the following treatments were used: T1- Control; T2- Fungicide; T3- 1,5 L.ha-1 of potassium silicate; T4- 2,5 L.ha-1 of potassium silicate; T5- seed treatment with Trichodermil®; T6- Trichodermil® + 1,5 L.ha-1 of potassium silicate; T7- Trichodermil® + 2,5 L.ha-1 of potassium silicate. From the obtained data, it was possible to conclude that the commercial products Trichodermil® and Ecotrich® increase the length, area and volume of the wheat roots, besides the increase in the mass weight of the root fresh and dry matter. In turn, the use of trichoderma and potassium silicate increases the number of tillers in wheat plants in conditions of greenhouse and, reduce the severity of Puccinia triticina, increasing the productivity. |
