Resumo: Objective: general - to analyze the quality of life of children dependent on health technology; specific - characterize children dependent on health technology; measure the quality of life of these children; and to know the quality of life from the perspective of children dependent on health technology. Method: a mixed study, carried out in a pediatric inpatient unit and pediatric outpatient unit of a hospital in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul and in an Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional and pediatric outpatient clinic of a teaching hospital in the interior of the state. The study participants were selected from the inclusion criteria - children dependent on health technology and age between five and twelve years; and exclusion criteria - children unable to verbalize / express themselves. The collection took place in the period from March to September 2016, through three instruments: participant characterization, Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0 questionnaire, and semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed according to the steps of the analysis of mixed methods, and for the quantitative data, descriptive statistics were performed using the SPSS Statistics 18.0 program, and for the qualitative data, content analysis. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee under CAAE number: 62695016.8.0000.5346 and opinions: 1,867,518 and 2,220,989. Results: 30 children participated in the study, nine of whom had their interviews analyzed. The children presented socioeconomic vulnerability, the characteristics of childbirth and birth corroborate with that of children with special health needs. The mean of the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0 revealed that the children had a median quality of life, which was analyzed according to each domain of the questionnaire (physical, emotional, social and school). Conclusions: the quality of life of children dependent on health technology was shown to be median, but knowing the child's perspective on their health condition was essential considering their specificities. Due to being a singular group it is suggested an evaluation that goes beyond quantitative instruments, being that the nursing plays an important educational role in front of these children and their families.

Método: estudo misto, realizado em uma unidade de internação pediátrica e ambulatório pediátrico de um hospital da capital do Rio Grande do Sul e em uma Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionais e ambulatório pediátrico de um hospital de ensino do interior do estado. Os participantes do estudo foram selecionados a partir dos critérios de inclusão – crianças dependentes de tecnologia em saúde e idade entre cinco e doze anos; e dos critérios de exclusão – crianças incapazes de verbalizar/expressar-se. A coleta aconteceu no período de março a setembro de 2016, por meio de três instrumentos: caracterização do participante, questionário Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0 e, entrevista semiestruturada. Os dados foram analisados segundo os passos da análise de métodos mistos, sendo que para os dados quantitativos foi realizada estatística descritiva, por meio do programa SPSS Statistics 18.0, e para os dados qualitativos, análise de conteúdo. O projeto foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa sob número CAAE: 62695016.8.0000.5346 e pareceres: 1.867.518 e 2.220.989. Resultados: participaram 30 crianças do estudo, sendo que nove dessas tiveram suas entrevistas analisadas. As crianças apresentaram vulnerabilidade socioeconômica, as características de parto e nascimento corroboram com o a de crianças com necessidades especiais de saúde. A média do questionário Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0 revelou que as crianças apresentavam qualidade de vida com valor mediano, devido a isto foi analisada de acordo com cada domínio do questionário (físico, emocional, social e escolar). Conclusões: a qualidade de vida das crianças dependentes de tecnologia em saúde demonstrou-se mediana, porém conhecer a perspectiva da criança sobre sua condição de saúde mostrou-se essencial, considerando suas especificidades. Devido a ser um grupo singular sugere-se uma avaliação que vá além de instrumentos quantitativos, sendo que a enfermagem tem papel educativo importante frente a essas crianças e suas famílias.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências da SaúdePrograma de Pós-Graduação em EnfermagemUFSMBrasilEnfermagemAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSaúde da criançaTecnologia em saúdeEnfermagem pediátricaCuidado da criançaQualidade de vidaChildren with special health care needsChildren dependent of technologiesQuality of lifeCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEMQualidade de vida na perspectiva de crianças dependentes de tecnologia em saúdeQuality of life in the perspective of children who dependent on health technologyinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisNeves, Eliane Tatschhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2267710105940770Urbanetto, Janete de SouzaOkido, Aline Cristiane CavicchioliRibeiro, Aline Cammaranohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3883043418146997Silva, Júlia Heinz da4004000000006006b9cb74a-f6ee-4f27-bbad-1ceb257903a5e57b5d3f-b4f3-417d-9f65-1e36f4f154e1af355677-0ad4-4268-8c50-249e35e19c74af3569d8-bb6b-49cd-91bd-0fff6faf76d0dd2e59a1-516c-4b13-b1cb-540248e9ef3ereponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMCC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
