Resumo: This dissertation delas with research on the impact of the Rural Social Security for the town of Silveira Martins in the maintenance of family agriculture, thiscity was chosen because this has a high percentage of beneficiaries of public policy compared with the total population of the town. The Social Security benefit is an important role in the spatial configuration and spatial reproduction of the city under study. The selected theme is to analyze the importance ofstudy. The selected theme is to analyze the importance of Social Security funds in the maintenance of family farmers in the productive unit. The elderlyrepresent a significant portion ofthe economy.

The elderlyrepresent a significant portion ofthe economy.A presente dissertação trata de uma pesquisa sobre os impactos da Previdência Social Rural para o município de Silveira Martins e sua importância para a agricultura familiar. Este município foi selecionado por apresentar um elevado percentual de beneficiários desta política pública em comparação com o total de população do município. Os benefícios da Previdência Social representam um importante papel na configuração espacial e na reprodução social do município em estudo. A temática abordada visa analisar a importância dos recursos da Previdência Social na manutenção dos agricultores familiares na unidade produtiva e a inserção do idoso como personagem importante para a economia do município e para a transmissão de saberes.
