Resumo: This study was carried out with the objective of verifying the efficiency of isolates of Beauveria bassiana, Cordyceps fumosorosea and Metarhizium anisopliae as an alternative for the control of leaf-cutting ants. In three articles, studies were presented that consisted of the morphophysiological characterization of entomopathogenic fungi isolates used in the assays, evaluation of the pathogenicity of entomopathogenic fungi in Acromyrmex heyeri (Forel, 1899) and evaluation of the effect of the insecticide Fipronil on the vegetative growth and sporulation of isolates of entomopathogenic fungi studied. The results of this study allow us to help with the development of an alternative biological control for the management of leaf-cutting ants.
