Resumo: Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) are seen by the electricity sector as one of the main allies to solve the problems faced by distribution utilities. Several published studies on MAS discuss their use on the reconfiguration of the distribution network, but few address the preceding step, which is estimating the faulted section. Utilities are evaluated in some aspects, such as the quality of service and the quality of product offered to consumers. The quality of services provided in-volves assessing interruptions in the supply of electricity through indices evaluated by regula-tory agencies. This thesis proposal aims to show how smart meters in conjunction with MAS can improve the utilities’ reliability and supply indices by detecting and locating the faulty section without any consumer intervention. To achieve this goal, the author considers the use of MAS, in the context of Smart Grid (SG), using smart meters (SM), called agents in this work. The purpose of using SM is to employ devices that are already present in a SG. The proposed methodology was implemented in the Java Agent Development Framework (JADE) language, which is a suitable platform for agent development and execution. To validate the proposed method in terms of power supply continuity, the IEEE 34-Node Test feeder was developed using HYPERSIM, a software developed by OPAL-RT Technologies. The results obtained show that the use of smart meter in conjunction with MAS for distribution networks provides agility, efficiency, and automation for the process of detection and location of the faulted sec-tion, eliminating the need for any type of action by the consumer. The next step for consolidat-ing the proposed methodology would be the agent’s implementation in large systems using a real-time simulator and later the physical implementation in real systems. The author believes that other functions can be implemented in SMs in order to improve quality indices and conse-quently consumer satisfaction.

The author believes that other functions can be implemented in SMs in order to improve quality indices and conse-quently consumer satisfaction.Os Sistemas Multiagentes (SMA) são vistos pelo setor elétrico como um dos principais aliados para a solução dos problemas enfrentados pelas concessionárias de distribuição de energia elé-trica. Numerosos estudos publicados sobre SMA discutem seu uso na reconfiguração da rede de distribuição, mas poucos abordam a etapa anterior que é a estimativa da seção em falta. As concessionárias são avaliadas em alguns aspectos como a qualidade do serviço e a qualidade do produto oferecidos aos consumidores. A qualidade dos serviços prestados envolve a avalia-ção das interrupções no fornecimento de energia elétrica através de indicadores avaliados pelos órgãos reguladores. Esta tese tem como objetivo mostrar como os medidores inteligentes em conjunto com o SMA pode auxiliar as concessionárias a melhorar seus índices de continuidade de fornecimento por meio da detecção e localização da seção em falta sem a ação do consumi-dor. Para alcançar esse objetivo, o autor considera o emprego de SMA, no contexto de uma Rede Elétrica Inteligente (REI), utilizando os medidores inteligentes (MIs), denominados de agentes neste trabalho. A finalidade do uso dos MIs é empregar dispositivos já presentes em uma REI. A metodologia proposta foi implementada na linguagem Java Agent Development Framework (JADE), que é uma plataforma adequada para o desenvolvimento e execução de agentes. Para validar o método proposto, sob a perspectiva da continuidade de fornecimento de energia, o sistema teste IEEE 34 nós foi implementado no HYPERSIM, um software da OPAL-RT Technologies. Os resultados obtidos revelam que o emprego dos medidores inteligentes em conjunto com o SMA para redes de distribuição fornece velocidade, eficiência e automação para o processo de detecção e localização da seção em falta, eliminando a necessidade de qual-quer tipo de ação por parte do consumidor. A próxima etapa para consolidação da metodologia proposta consiste em implementar os agentes em sistemas maiores, utilizando simulador de tempo real e, posteriormente, realizar a implantação física em sistemas reais. O autor entende que outras funções poderão ser implementadas nos MIs, visando melhorar os indicadores de qualidade e, consequentemente, a satisfação do consumidor.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de TecnologiaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia ElétricaUFSMBrasilEngenharia ElétricaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSistema multiagenteMedidor inteligenteEstimação da seção em faltaRede elétrica inteligenteMulti-agent systemSmart meterFault section estimationSmart gridCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA ELETRICASistema multiagente para estimação da seção em falta em redes de distribuição no contexto de smart gridsMulti-agent system for faul section esmation in distribution networks in the context of smart gridsinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisCardoso Junior, Ghendyhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6284386218725402Bretas, Arturo SumanMorais, Adriano Peres deGuarda, Fernando Guilherme KahelerMoreto, MiguelVieira, João Paulo Abreuhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6556469824221064Costa, Guilherme Braga da300400000007600600600600600600600600eed4f55e-1a74-47ce-afc0-4daa8655d8a319fe7410-87f4-4364-886e-67b2e6105277d9b7a590-a131-4a51-b1fc-f3b53f49413dd5c552aa-5ab7-4696-a0b5-0febd6a3079d7700045f-f02b-4165-847c-d425c05ed90998833d04-3249-416f-9cc8-7183db91434c4b1c6f09-8a41-49d8-8e72-f37b3e8afcbfreponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
