Resumo: | Historically the main environmental degradation factors are linked to industrial processes. The textile and food industries use high volumes of water in their processes. These industries use products such as preservatives, seasonings, detergents, starters and dyes, and end up generating a large volume of contaminated effluents. Improper disposal of these effluents causes damage not only to biota but also to humans. Due to this problem, studies are required to understand e create tecniques to remove contaminants from aqueous media. An alternative is the use of biosorbents, which do not generate toxic byproducts, have low cost, efficiency and availability. From the present work it is verified that the Moringa oleifera has high capacity in the adsorption of dyes in aqueous media. Thus, we sought to characterize the peel and pulp of M. oleifera in natura and evaluate its use in the adsorption of blue dye in aqueous solution. In this work the characterization of the moringa seed husk and pulp was performed. For this the analysis, a Scanning Electron Microscopy, Brumauer-Emmett-Teller method, analysis of chemical compounds, pHPCZ, X-ray Diffraction and Infrared Spectroscopy were performed. . After this characterization, in order to understand the origin of the adsorptive capacity of these materials, the adsorption tests were performed. For this, a preliminary test was performed to optimize the adsorption capacity and soon after were made adsorption kinetics, changes in dye concentrations, and adsorption isotherms, and changes in the temperature. Both models were adjusted to better represent the capacity. As a result we found that the moringa seed husk and pulp have distinct characteristics and adsorption capacity, but both have the potential to remove bright blue dye in aqueous medium. |

Both models were adjusted to better represent the capacity. As a result we found that the moringa seed husk and pulp have distinct characteristics and adsorption capacity, but both have the potential to remove bright blue dye in aqueous medium.Historicamente os principais fatores de degradação ambientais estão atrelados aos processos industriais. As indústrias têxteis e alimentícias utilizam altos volumes de água em seus processos. Estas indústrias utilizam produtos como conservantes, temperos, detergentes, engomantes e corantes, e acabam gerando um grande volume de efluentes contaminados. A disposição inadequada destes efluentes causa danos não apenas na biota, mas também para os humanos. Devido a esta problemática, torna-se necessário estudos para a remoção de contaminantes dos meios aquosos. Uma alternativa é o uso de biossorventes, que não geram subprodutos tóxicos, tenham um baixo custo, eficiência e disponibilidade. A partir do presente trabalho verifica-se que a Moringa oleífera possui alta capacidade na adsorção de corantes em meios aquosos, assim, se buscou caracterizar a casca e polpa das sementes de M. oleífera in natura e avaliar o seu uso na adsorção do corante Azul Brilhante em solução aquosa. Neste trabalho foi realizada a caracterização da casca e polpa de semente de moringa, para isso foi realizado as análises de Microscopia Eletrônica de Varredura, método de Brumauer-Emmett-Teller, análise de compostos químicos, pHPCZ, Difração de Raios X e Espectroscopia no Infravermelho. Após esta caracterização, com objetivo de compreender a origem da capacidade adsortiva destes materiais, foram realizados os testes de adsorção. Para isso foi realizado um teste preliminar para otimização da capacidade de adsorção e logo após foram feitas cinéticas de adsorção, alterando as concentrações de corante, e isotermas de adsorção, alterando a temperatura, ambos modelos foram ajustados para melhor representação da capacidade. Como resultado encontramos que a casca e polpa de semente de moringa possuem características e capacidade de adsorções distintas, porém, ambas possuem potencial para a remoção de corante azul brilhante em meio aquoso.porUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências RuraisPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia AgrícolaUFSMBrasilEngenharia AgrícolaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMoringa oleiferaCaracterizaçãoAzul BrilhanteAdsorçãoMoringa oleiferaDescriptionBrilliant BlueAdsorptionCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::ENGENHARIA AGRICOLAPotencial adsorvente da casca e polpa de moringa na remoção de corante orgânico em solução aquosaAdsorbent potential of moringa shell and pulp for organic dye removal in water solutioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisSwarowsky, Alexandrehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9525157123018041Machado, Fernando Machadohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/4817691053221537Vasconcellos, Noeli Júlia Schussler dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3726530263510005http://lattes.cnpq.br/3845262425046995Escobar, Otávio dos Santos50030000000860002d8faa1-0984-4fdc-9b71-f20c9708954866c9809e-fe9c-4213-a23d-6f21923c6563e371fb7b-75f2-4f4b-a801-d15daaa6d6f6f153ed4b-943f-4953-8e4f-cd8e5b9a86d2reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGEA_2019_ESCOBAR_OTAVIO.pdfDIS_PPGEA_2019_ESCOBAR_OTAVIO.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf2707294http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/19599/1/DIS_PPGEA_2019_ESCOBAR_OTAVIO.pdf56a68c398b176024dfdb79891547ac89MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
