This work intends to analyze a sporting event, which occurred on December 5, 1976, which became known as the Corinthian Invasion. This event became notorious to have detained more than 50,000 citizens from São Paulo bound for Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro, to watch the match which was valid for the semifinal of Brazilian Championship football men that year. From the survey of some prospects that marked the invasion, as the great mobilization of workers in the industrial pole of the ABC region in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, at a time marked by great repression and curtailment of freedom caused by the then current dictatorial government and also some other analysis focuses raised during the exhibition of this monograph, will be shown how some social characteristics made the Corinthian Invasion 1976, an event that makes it possible, the researcher, to see soccer as a unifier social elements that can strengthen political struggles, transcending its "primary function" that would provide the contemplative leisure in your viewer.
