Resumo: | The Lebanese civil war, which occurred between 1975 and 1990, is the result of a failed policy of division of powers between different faith groups, Maronite Christians, Druze and Muslims also promoted the times when Lebanon was still a province of the Ottoman Empire, and indirectly, the global context, the Cold War, and regional context, the creation of the state of Israel in the Middle East in 1948. This war was marked by the presence of militias, representatives of parties linked to the main religious groups in the country and the instability of its alliances, the Israeli invasion in 1978 and in 1982, aiming at the eradication of one of these militias, the PLO, and also marked by regularity of massacres, which we can illustrate through Sabra and Shatila and Burj al Barajneh episodes, and the destruction of the capital Beirut. After nearly 15 years of war in 1989 a peace agreement was established and its determinations implemented between 1990 and 1992, however in 2006 the country is again invaded by Israeli due to Hezbollah, a militia born during the civil war, provocations and in 2007 the Lebanese army was involved in a conflict with the Islamic militant group Fatah al-Islam. Under these two conflicts hung the shadow of the Civil War started in the 1970s. We seek to consider how to Veja Magazine, a longer range periodical in Brazil, analyzed the conflict and what panorama was offered to readers from this analysis. We intend to consider about the opinions of the magazine about the civil war, the reasons for its beginning, the political alliances between the militias involved, the Israeli intervention in 1978 and later in 1982, the massacre of Sabra and Shatila, ending the war in the late 1980s, the reconstruction of the country in the early 2000s, the 2006 war and the episode that pitted the army and Fatah al-Islam group. |
