The purpose of this meeting was to provide a comprehensive, evidence-informed summary to support the clinician and help children with ACL injury and their parents/guardians make the best possible decisions. Representatives from the following societies attended: American Orthopaedic Society for Sports MedicineEuropean Paediatric Orthopaedic SocietyEuropean Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery, and ArthroscopyInternational Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports MedicinePediatric Orthopaedic Society of North Americaand Sociedad Latinoamericana de Artroscopia, Rodilla, y Deporte. Physical therapists and orthopaedic surgeons with clinical and research experience in the field and an ethics expert with substantial experience in the area of sports injuries also participated. This consensus statement addresses 6 fundamental clinical questions regarding the prevention, diagnosis, and management of pediatric ACL injuries. Injury management is challenging in the current landscape of clinical uncertainty and limited scientific knowledge. Injury management decisions also occur against the backdrop of the complexity of shared decision making with children and the potential long-term ramifications of the injury.Linkoping Univ, Div Physiotherapy, Linkoping, SwedenLa Trobe Univ, Sch Allied Hlth, Melbourne, Vic, AustraliaOslo Univ Hosp, Div Orthopaed Surg, Oslo, NorwayNorwegian Sch Sport Sci, Oslo Sports Trauma Res Ctr, Oslo, NorwayUniv Oslo, Inst Clin Med, Oslo, NorwayNorwegian Sch Sport Sci, Dept Sports Med, Oslo, NorwayHop Femme Mere Enfant, Dept Pediat Orthopaed Surg, Lyon, FranceUniv Fed Sao Paulo, Orthoped Dept, Sao Paulo, BrazilKarolinska Inst, Stockholm Sports Trauma Res Ctr, Stockholm, SwedenChildrens Hosp Philadelphia, Dept Orthopaed, Philadelphia, PA 19104 USAEpworth Healthcare, OrthoSport Victoria Res Unit, Melbourne, Vic, AustraliaLa Trobe Univ, Coll Sci Hlth & Engn, Melbourne, Vic, AustraliaUniv Gothenburg, Sahlgrenska Acad, Dept Orthopaed, Gothenburg, SwedenBoston Childrens Hosp, Div Sports Med, Boston, MA USAHarvard Med Sch, Boston, MA USASteadman Philippon Res Inst, Vail, CO USASteadman Clin, Vail, CO USASwansea Univ, Coll Engn, Swansea, W Glam, WalesSanta Monica Orthopaed & Sports Med Grp, Los Angeles, CA USAMicheli Ctr Sports Injury Prevent, Waltham, MA USAUniv Calgary, Sports Med Ctr, Calgary, AB, CanadaUniv Chicago, Dept Orthopaed & Rehabil Med, Chicago, IL 60637 USANorth Sydney Orthopaed & Sports Med Ctr, Sydney, NSW, AustraliaCtr Hosp Luxembourg, Dept Orthopaed Surg, Luxembourg, LuxembourgLuxembourg Inst Hlth, Sports Med Res Lab, Luxembourg, LuxembourgRuprecht Karls Univ Heidelberg, Inst Anat & Cell Biol, Heidelberg, GermanyATOS Klin, HKF Int Ctr Hip Knee Foot Surg & Sportstraumatol, Heidelberg, GermanyFIFA Med Ctr Excellence, Veloc Phys Therapy, Los Angeles, CA USAInt Olymp Comm, Med & Sci Dept, Lausanne, SwitzerlandUniv Calgary, Fac Kinesiol, Sport Injury Prevent Res Ctr, Calgary, AB, CanadaUniv Ghent, Fac Med & Healthsci, Dept Rehabil Sci & Physiotherapy, Ghent, BelgiumOslo Univ Hosp, Div Orthopaed Surg, Oslo, NorwayUniv Fed Sao Paulo, Orthoped Dept, Sao Paulo, BrazilWeb of ScienceIOCSage Publications Inc2020-07-20T16:31:14Z2020-07-20T16:31:14Z2018info:eu-repo/semantics/reviewinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-application/pdfhttp://dx.doi.org/10.1177/2325967118759953Orthopaedic Journal Of Sports Medicine.
