Resumo: It is intended to analyze, in Antes do passado: o silêncio que vem do Araguaia, by Liniane Haag Brum, the way through literary language tries to break through the barrier of the impossibility of representing the fractures due to trauma from the violence of brasilian dictatorial state (1964/1985). It is understood that this narrative, according to what Roberto Vecchi defines as a “restitutive poetics”, leads fiction to perform the symbolic reparation of the voids and silences historically built in the national memory, in a reconstructive gesture of the bonds ruined by the disorders of history.
