Resumo: This study deals with the narrative of resistance of remaining quilombola Community of Ilha de São Vicente, in Araguatins-TO. It is discussed the struggle for the reapropriation of its territory and its process of construction of the quilombola identity. Guided by the methodology of oral history, the research had as its object of study, oral reports of a social activist quilombola who plays a leadership role in her community. The research corpus consists of a single biographical statement, which which carries experiences of a collectivity. The analytical reading of the data indicates that the construction quilombola identity is a recent process which began with the certification of the quilombo´s territorial area. The affective relationship of the community with the territory is woven through memories of struggles, resistance and militancy, especially in the collective mobilization to prove the connection with a history that carries a common ancestry: the descent of enslaved people.

Discorre-se a respeito de sua na luta pela reapropriação de seu território, bem como do processo de construção da identidade quilombola. Norteada pela metodologia da história oral, a pesquisa teve como objeto de estudo relatos orais de uma ativista social quilombola, que exerce papel de liderança em sua comunidade. O corpus da pesquisa compõe-se de depoimento biográfico único, o qual porta experiências e vivências de uma coletividade. A leitura analítica dos dados aponta ser a construção identitária quilombola um processo recente, que teve início a partir da certificação da área territorial do quilombo.
