Resumo: ABSTRACT. The objective of this research was to evaluate the teaching practice in the form of Work Project for meaningful learning of the discipline of Rural Constructions and Instalactions, taught at the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Pará (IFPA), Pará, Brazil. The theme of the Work Project consisted in the construction of a diagnosis on the system of breeding of rustic chickens. The study was based on the concept of action research with qualitative analysis and application of pre-and post-activity questionnaires. The results showed positive contribution to the construction of an autonomous and consistent knowledge by the participating students, and evidenced greater comprehension power by the content taught in the discipline, among others, materials of alternative constructions, architectural design elements, ambience and animal comfort.

El tema del Proyecto de Trabajo consistió en la construcción de un diagnóstico sobre el sistema de cría de pollos rústicos. El estudio se basó en el concepto de investigación de acción con análisis cualitativo y aplicación de cuestionarios previos y posteriores a la actividad. Los resultados mostraron una contribución positiva a la construcción de un conocimiento autónomo y consistente por parte de los estudiantes participantes, y evidenció mayor poder de comprensión por el contenido enseñado en la disciplina, entre otros, materiales de construcciones alternativos, elementos de diseño arquitectónico, ambientación y confort animal.ABSTRACT. O tema do Projeto de Trabalho consistiu na construção de um diagnóstico sobre o sistema de criação de galinhas caipiras. O estudo enquadrou-se no conceito de pesquisa-ação com análise qualitativa e aplicação de questionário pré e pós-atividades. Os resultados demonstraram contribuição positiva para a construção de um conhecimento autônomo e consistente por parte dos discentes participantes, e evidenciaram maior poder de compreensão pelo conteúdo ministrado na disciplina, entre outros, materiais de construções alternativos, elementos de projetos arquitetônicos, ambiência e conforto animal.
