Resumo: Companies currently hire staff from up to four generations: Baby Boomers, and Generations X, Y and Z and this is increasingly posing a challenge for managers. A systematic review of the literature was carried out based on selected studies of the co-existence of multiple generations in the workplace published in Brazil between 2010 and 2019 and included in the CAPES, SCIELO, LILACS, BVS Brasil or BDTD databases. Nine hundred studies were identified but only six exactly or approximately met the inclusion criteria. These studies indicate the existence of multigenerational conflict in the workplace and the need to acquire knowledge of the profile of each staff member in order to mitigate such conflict.  This subject is relevant not only for organizations, but also, primarily, on account of the social importance of understanding how Baby Boomers and Generations X, Y and Z coexist under pressure from their peer groups and from events that govern the distinct attitudes and forms of behavior of each group, in the context of the new forms of knowledge brought by the so-called fourth industrial revolution.
