“Charges are heavy, we suffer too much pressure”: goals at bankers’ life

Resumo: This study aimed to know the bankers’ perception about the organization of goals in financial institutions, to understand their views about it and to investigated the repercussions of goals at the lives of these institutions’ employees. Eleven employees of public and private financial institutions from Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil participated of a semi structured interview. Answers were subjected to content analysis. It was realized that goals are established to transform employees of banking on sellers of products and services. According to the majority of bankers goals are unattainable, the goals are difficult to attain and are an imposition with repercussions on the personal and professional life of the workers. The imposition for meeting the goals often causes suffering in bankers, which can lead to health problems. Palavras-chave: organizational goals; work; suffering.

Once colaboradores de instituciones financieras públicas y privadas de Rio Grande do Sul/Brasil participaron de una entrevista semiestructurada. Sus respuestas fueron sometidas a análisis de contenido. Se percibió que las metas son constituidas de manera a transformar los funcionarios del sector bancario en vendedores de productos y servicios.  Según la mayoría de los bancarios, las metas son difíciles de alcanzar y son una imposición con repercusiones en la vida personal y profesional de los trabajadores. El cobro por el cumplimiento de las metas a menudo causa sufrimiento en los bancarios, pudiendo desencadenar problemas de salud. Palabras-clave: objetivos organizacionales; trabajo; sufrimiento.Cette étude visait à comprendre la perception des banquiers quant à l'organisation des objectifs dans les institutions financières, à comprendre leur vision à leur sujet et à étudier leurs répercussions sur la vie des employés. Onze employés d'institutions financières publiques et privées de Rio Grande do Sul/Brésil ont participé à une entrevue semi-structurée. Les réponses ont été soumises à l'analyse du contenu. Il a été réalisé que les objectifs sont constitués afin de transformer les employés en vendeurs de produits et services. Selon la plupart des banquiers, les objectifs sont difficiles à atteindre et imposent des répercussions sur la vie personnelle et professionnelle des travailleurs. La collecte par la réalisation des objectifs provoque alors des souffrances chez les banquiers, pouvant déclencher des problèmes de santé. Mots-clés: objectifs organisationnels; travailler; souffrance.Este estudo objetivou compreender a percepção dos bancários sobre a organização das metas nas instituições financeiras, entender a visão que eles possuem sobre essas e investigar as repercussões das mesmas na vida dos empregados. Onze colaboradores de instituições financeiras públicas e privadas do Rio Grande do Sul/Brasil participaram de uma entrevista semiestruturada. As respostas foram submetidas à análise de conteúdo. Percebeu-se que as metas são constituídas de forma a transformar os funcionários em vendedores de produtos e serviços. Segundo a maioria dos bancários, as metas são difíceis de atingir e são uma imposição com repercussões na vida pessoal e profissional dos trabalhadores. A cobrança pelo cumprimento das metas seguidamente causa sofrimento nos bancários, podendo desencadear problemas de saúde.
