Resumo: The changes that represent the accessible technology and the use of social networking media in digital culture pose new questions and challenges as we are, at the same time, producers and consumers of information. Disinformation affects public life and threatens democracy. Based on the ideas of Cognitive Democracy (Morin, 2014) and the Knowledge Dialogue (Leff, 2006), we will discuss the theme in the light of an analytical framework of the research “Values and Arguments in the assimilation and propagation of disinformation: a dialogical approach”. Media education appears as a historic and democratic need to combat fake news. In this sense, the possible solutions should build and strengthen collective learning about communicational and educational processes that promote reading and understanding of codes to interaction in social media.

A desinformação afeta a vida pública e ameaça a democracia. Universidade Federal do Tocantins - UFT2020-10-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfapplication/pdfhttps://sistemas.uft.edu.br/periodicos/index.php/observatorio/article/view/1076810.20873/uft.2447-4266.2020v6n6a10enObservatory Journal; Vol. 6 No. 6 (2020): Disinformation, threats to democracy and opportunities for media literacy / Desinformação, ameaças à democracia e oportunidades de letramento/literacia midiática; a10enObservatorio Magazine; Vol. 6 Núm. 6 (2020): Disinformation, threats to democracy and opportunities for media literacy / Desinformação, ameaças à democracia e oportunidades de letramento/literacia midiática; a10enObservatoire Journal; Vol. 6 No. 6 (2020): Disinformation, threats to democracy and opportunities for media literacy / Desinformação, ameaças à democracia e oportunidades de letramento/literacia midiática; a10enRevista Observatório ; v. 6 n. 6 (2020): Disinformation, threats to democracy and opportunities for media literacy / Desinformação, ameaças à democracia e oportunidades de letramento/literacia midiática; a10en2447-426610.20873/uft.2447-4266.2020v6n6reponame:Revista Observatórioinstname:Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT)instacron:UFTporhttps://sistemas.uft.edu.br/periodicos/index.php/observatorio/article/view/10768/18209https://sistemas.uft.edu.br/periodicos/index.php/observatorio/article/view/10768/18210Copyright (c) 2020 Revista Observatório info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDias Rovari Cordeiro, JulianaBrasil Carvalho da Fonseca, AlexandreCelestrini Mangabeira, EllizCintia Lima e Silva, JulianaGuarany Ignacio Lima, Aline2022-03-04T12:58:13Zoai:ojs.revista.uft.edu.br:article/10768Revistahttps://sistemas.uft.edu.br/periodicos/index.php/observatorio/oai2447-42662447-4266opendoar:2022-03-04T12:58:13Revista Observatório - Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT)false
