RESEARCH IN THE AMAZON: historical notes for the production of communicational knowledge

Resumo: | The article discusses a research position that takes into account the natural and social particularities of the Amazon. Inferences explore the conception of modern science and scientific positions that can account for the particularities of the objects of study. By this approach it is necessary to overcome the ideas that conceive Latin America, and the Amazon in particular, as peripheries doomed to the consumption of theory and not to its production. In the end, the perception is presented that there is a need to take an inventive stance to account for doing research in the face of the most different realities that are configured in the region. |

Las inferencias exploran la concepción de la ciencia moderna y las posturas científicas que puedan dar cuenta de las particularidades de los objetos de estudio. Por este enfoque es necesario superar las ideas que concibe a América Latina, y la Amazonia en particular, como periferias fadadas al consumo de teoría y no a su producción. Al cabo se presenta la percepción de que hay la necesidad de asumir una postura inventiva para dar cuenta de hacer investigación ante las más diferentes realidades que se configuran en la región.O artigo discute uma postura de pesquisa que dê conta das particularidades naturais e sociais da Amazônia. As inferências exploram a concepção de ciência moderna e posturas científicas que possam dar conta das particularidades dos objetos de estudo. Por esta abordagem é necessário superar as ideias que concebem a América Latina, e a Amazônia em particular, como periferias fadadas ao consumo de teoria e não à sua produção. Ao cabo é apresentada a percepção de que há a necessidade de assumir uma postura inventiva para dar conta do fazer pesquisa diante das mais diferentes realidades que se configuram na região.
