The integration of the research and extension to the teaching of Journalism of the State University of Ponta Grossa marks a recent history in the undergraduate course and in the Postgraduate Program in the institution. From 2004, UEPG teachers and students start to develop studies, integrating the conceptual axes media/culture / citizenship. In partnership with social movements and groups in the region, extension and research activities were carried out, as well as the production of academic texts (articles and essays) published or presented at regional or national level events. The survey of systematized texts between 2010 and 2015, presented here, reveals the interdisciplinary and integrative perspectives of extension and research to professional teaching in Journalism.
