Resumo: The big evasion and retention of students in computer science graduation is a reality in the Brazil. The strong rejection from students of science fields and the same traditional learning methods, even with several technological resources available are factors that influence the retention and evasion. Wearable Devices earn visibility nowadays in tasks related to sports, health and education. Allying this kind of technology in class, with the aim to promote practical experiences and discussions about the theory involved is a promising action. This paper shows two projects of wearable devices and their practical experiences. The first allows students to view the relation of integral (calculus) with the distance traveled by a body. The other shows a practical application of monitoring the heart rate from users.

Los dispositivos vestibles ganan espacio actualmente en tareas relacionadas con el deporte, la salud y la educación. Este artículo demuestra dos proyectos de dispositivos vestibles y sus experiencias prácticas. El primero permite a los alumnos ver la relación de integrales con la distancia recorrida por un cuerpo. El otro muestra una aplicación práctica del monitoreo de frecuencia cardíaca de los usuarios.A grande evasão e retenção de alunos em cursos de computação é uma realidade no Brasil. A forte rejeição dos alunos ingressantes pelas áreas de ciências exatas e a manutenção de métodos tradicionais de ensino, mesmo com tantos recursos tecnológicos disponíveis são fatores que influenciam a evasão e retenção. Dispositivos vestíveis ganham espaço atualmente em tarefas relacionadas ao esporte, saúde e educação. Aliar esse tipo de tecnologia em sala de aula, a fim de promover experiências práticas e discussões sobre a teoria é uma ação promissora. Esse artigo demonstra dois projetos de dispositivos vestíveis e suas experiências práticas. O primeiro permite aos alunos enxergar a relação de integrais com a distância percorrida por um corpo.
