Resumo: This article is part of a Postdoctoral research developed between 2017 and 2018. The objective was to present the paths taken by cooperativism practiced in Brazil. The directions were often distorted from the original ideals and thoughts of the precursors of the 18th and 19th century cooperative movement. Furthermore, union and labor origins were forgotten by many defenders of current cooperativism. On the other hand, at the same time, alternative currents, based, for example, on the Solidarity Economy, gained ground in the country.

El objetivo fue presentar los caminos tomados por el cooperativismo practicado en Brasil. Las direcciones a menudo se distorsionaron de los ideales y pensamientos originales de los precursores del movimiento cooperativo de los siglos XVIII y XIX. Además, los orígenes sindicales y laborales fueron olvidados por muchos defensores del cooperativismo actual. Por otro lado, al mismo tiempo, las corrientes alternativas, basadas, por ejemplo, en la Economía Solidaria, ganaron terreno en el país.O presente artigo é parte de pesquisa de Pós-Doutorado desenvolvida entre os anos de 2017 e 2018. O objetivo foi apresentar os caminhos tomados pelo cooperativismo praticado no Brasil. Os rumos, muitas vezes, desvirtuaram-se dos ideais originais e os pensamentos dos teóricos precursores do movimento cooperativista dos séculos XVIII e XIX. Ademais, as origens sindical e trabalhista foram esquecidas por muitos defensores do cooperativismo atual.
