Representations and confrontation in rural settlemnt projects in Passira (PE): a discursive analysis between the “image” and the “real territory”

The objective of this article is introduce the main results of the analysis carried out in the implementation of Independência and Varame I rural settlements (Passira-PE), from a reflection that involve the process of socio-territorial inclusion of families settled, based on the active and or passive territorialities. In this perspective, the analysis revealed that there was, between the Independência and Varame I settled families, a process of rupture from MST "territorial image projection" and the "real territory" lived by the poor families. Thus, the research consider again the discourses around the occupations and the territorial reality lived by the settlers. The theoretical support is based on Raffestin’s relational problem as a way of interpreting the complexity of the men and women spatial reality. As methodology, we used the critical discourse analysis, taking into account the description, interpretation and explanation of the discourses told. The main result of this paper is to illustrate the fact that, among families settled, there is a process of a discursive clash between the reality lived by the settlers and the discourse around the struggle for land.
