Rural settlements and Rural Schools: a comparative study in two areas in the North of Paraná

Resumo: The present paper proposes a comparative analysis between two rural settlements located in the North of Paraná – Eli Vive I (Londrina) and Água da Prata (Tamarana) – especially regarding the degree of influence of the capitalist model on rural relations, determined from the formative process of the settlers. The principle of comparison is due to Eli Vive I link to the MST, listing it as a vital characteristic in the construction of an education model based on the values ​​of the peasantry, which results in the continuing education of individuals, which associates practice and theory, maintaining the logic of the countryside and militancy. It was found that such positioning was fundamental to avoid abandonment of the lots and maintain agroecological production, among other causes defended by the social movement. The MST makes use of emancipatory education as a starting point, in which success is achieved by social justice through the land. In the Água da Prata settlement, however, the reality is quite different, resulting from the lack of political, social, and pedagogical organization of families. Daily life and desires are always thought of within the logic of the capitalist mode of production and the urban-industrial way of life.

Daily life and desires are always thought of within the logic of the capitalist mode of production and the urban-industrial way of life.O presente trabalho propõe uma análise comparativa entre dois assentamentos rurais situados no Norte do Paraná – o Eli Vive I (Londrina) e o Água da Prata (Tamarana) – especialmente no que tange ao grau de influência do modo capitalista de produção nas relações sociais no campo, determinado a partir do processo formativo dos assentados. O princípio da comparação se dá em razão do vínculo do Eli Vive I ao MST, conferindo-lhe como característica vital a construção de um modelo de educação firmado nos valores e nas necessidades do campesinato, que resulta na formação continuada dos indivíduos aptos a compreender e transformar a sua realidade e que associam teoria e prática, mantendo a lógica do campo e da militância. Verificou-se que tal posicionamento é fundamental para evitar o abandono dos lotes e manter a produção agroecológica. O MST defende, portanto, a educação emancipatória como ponto de partida, em que o êxito é atingido pela justiça social. No assentamento Água da Prata a realidade é bem distinta. A falta organização política, social e pedagógica foi fundamental para a imposição do modelo tradicional e urbano de educação.
