Research on work in Brazilian sugarcane fields: a look at the first decades of the 21st century

Resumo: Due to its longevity and importance in national agriculture, sugarcane work arouses interest in several areas of knowledge. Based on this, the objective of this article is to understand the field of studies that is being formed to analyze the phenomenon of work in sugarcane production. Among the mechanisms commonly used to understand a field of study, bibliometric and scientometric tools stand out. To use such tools, a survey of academic production available on the CAPES Periódicos Portal regarding this topic was carried out. After collection and necessary adjustments, 233 articles were found. The results show that production was more intense between the years 2009 and 2021. It is noteworthy that the areas of Human Sciences, Health Sciences and Applied Social Sciences were the areas of knowledge that had the most representation both in terms of authors and journals in that such studies have been published. The scientific community that forms this field of study is dispersed and most of the work is individual. Finally, the main topics discussed were: occupational health and safety, migration, mechanization and overexploitation.

Com base nisso, o objetivo deste artigo é compreender o campo de estudos que se forma para analisar o fenômeno do trabalho na produção da cana-de-açúcar. Dentre os mecanismos comumente utilizados para compreender um campo de estudos, destacam-se os ferramentais bibliométricos e cienciométricos. Para utilizar tais ferramentais, foi realizado um levantamento da produção acadêmica disposta no Portal Periódicos CAPES referente a tal temática. Após a coleta e os ajustes necessários, foram encontrados 233 artigos. Os resultados mostram que a produção foi mais intensa entre os anos de 2009 e 2021. Destaca-se que as áreas Ciências Humanas, Ciências da Saúde e Ciências Sociais Aplicadas foram as áreas do conhecimento que mais tiveram representatividade tantos no quesito autores, quanto nos periódicos em que tais estudos foram publicados. A comunidade cientifica que forma esse campo de estudo se apresenta de forma dispersa e, em sua maioria, os trabalhos são individuais.
