Violence against women is a public health problem whose repercussions greatly impact a woman's life. The study sought to identify, describe and analyze the academic productions of Psychology journals with Qualis A2 on the theme of violence against women. It is a meta-synthesis, in which the following descriptors were used: “violence against women”, “gender violence” and “domestic violence''. Forty-nine articles were analyzed. It could be observed: studies with men who were the perpetrators of violence, but most participants were women victims; reproduction of patriarchal culture; dissemination of a culture of violence and impunity; Consolidated networks for confronting violence against women were the result of long and intense investments, with training and qualification of professionals.
