Resumo: | This study aims to analyze the profile of the elderly who participate in a community center for the elderly. Methods: This is a cross-sectional and descriptive study, of a quantitative nature. Results and Discussion: The sample of this study consisted of 110 registered elderly and CC participants in the city of Catalão GO. There was a prevalence of 22 elderly (20%) who suspected CMD. The result observed in this study indicates a lower prevalence of people with suspected common mental disorder than found in the literature. Conclusion: The results of this study show that the activities developed in the Community Centers protect the elderly from the appearance of symptoms related to mental disorders, as well as to the development of TMC |

Hubo una prevalencia de 22 ancianos (20%) que tenían sospecha de DMC. El resultado observado en este estudio indica una menor prevalencia de personas con sospecha de trastorno mental común que la encontrada en la literatura. Conclusión: Es posible identificar que el Centro Comunitario, para los ancianos entrevistados, actúa como un potencializador en el mantenimiento de su salud mental.O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o perfil dos idosos que participam de um centro de convivência da terceira idade. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo transversal e descritivo, de cunho quantitativo. Resultados e Discussão: A amostra desse estudo constituiu-se de 110 idosos cadastrados e participantes do CC no município de Catalão GO. Foi observado uma prevalência de 22 idosos (20%) que apresentaram suspeita de TMC. O resultado observado neste estudo indica uma prevalência inferior de pessoas com suspeita de transtorno mental comum do que se encontra na literatura.
