Resumo: | The evidentiality is a linguistic category that refers to expression of information source, which made us relate it to the journalistic discourse, the purpose of which is (i) inform the events and (ii) form opinions. How this research objective to analyze the use of evidential markers in Spanish, we based on a functionalist approach, specifically the Functional Discourse Grammar (FDG). Thus, we chose news of newspapers because it is a journalistic genre of narrative character in which the evidentiality would be expressed more. To build the corpus, we made a collection of about 10,000 words in total, from the two newspapers most read in Spain, according to the Asociación para la Investigación de Medios de Comunicación (AIMC, feb./nov. 2015). After data collection, we did quantitative and qualitative analysis of the expression of evidentiality through the software Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). From the analysis, we found that the type of source 'third defined' and the way of obtaining 'report of L2' were used more, which is related to the effects of (dis) commitment with the information, giving more credibility to what is transmitted. |
