Resumo: This article aims to analyze ways of identity resistance in autobiographical discourses of old people. We conceive resistance practices of identity as forms of social action through which hegemonic identities are challenged in the promotion and development of new ways of identification. The discourses of resistance of identity associated with old age are a set of discursive actions by which the way of identifying old people based on youth identity is counteracted. In the scope of resistance, new ways of identifying and being-in-the-world which are characteristic of aging are constructed to old people. From the perspective of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) theoretical framework with contributions of Psychoanalysis and foucaultian studies, we search to show the discourses that construct a dissident identification for the old age in the autobiographical chronicles by Rachel de Queiroz and Rubem Alves. In order to do so, we selected six chronicles in which we could find a discourse of resistance to social identification of old people as docile, asexual and decrepit. Besides the critical aspect, the writers are engaged in discourses aiming to transform the way of identifying elderly, especially those which reduce the elderly to a person waiting for death.
