Resumo: The objectives of this study are to analyze and describe the errors related to the opening and rising of [e] and [o] in the pronunciation of undergraduates from Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará at Letras (Spanish) Course. It is a descriptive / explanatory investigation of a case study in which we use as instrument of data collection half-free reading and speaking tests applied to twenty four learners. The most present errors in our analysis were, firstly, the opening of [e] and [o] and, secondly, the rising of [e] and [o]. These errors have become fossilized; some of them do not impede communication and others make it difficult.
