Language, text, and speech genres conceptions in the initial formation of Portuguese Language teachers: a study of Arts Language courses

Resumo: In 2008, Paraná State published the Curricular Guidelines for Basic Education (DCE). This document guides the teaching of Portuguese language (PL) by the linguistic ideas of Bakhtin Circle: focused in a dialogical conception of language and in the work with speech genres. However, in order to implement such proposal, it is necessary that PL teachers receive, since undergraduate level, a formation consistent with these purposes. Therefore, this pa-per analyses two Language Arts under-graduate courses from a public univer-sity of Parana to answer: Which dialogue is there between Political Pedagogical Project and the syllabuses of the courses aimed at the training of PL teachers according to the DCE? The results indicate that both courses have a relationship with the DCE, but in a different way. The first course is guided by the same language conception of the DCE and some of its disciplines not only discuss the docu-ment’s proposal, but also propose a stu-dy of the speech genres in a Bakhtinian approach. The second course is based on the same language conception, but adopts an organizing axis for the disci-plines contrary to the Bakhtinian pre-mises for the study of language. There-fore, the dialogue is more in the sense of discussing the DCE proposal than to guide the disciplines by its conceptions.

Esse documento, ainda vigente, orienta um ensino de Língua Portuguesa (LP) norteado pelas ideias linguísticas do Círculo de Bakhtin: centrado na concepção dialógica de linguagem e no trabalho com os gêneros discursivos. No entanto, para efetivarem a proposta, os professores devem rece-ber, desde a graduação, uma formação coerente com tais propósitos. Assim, esta pesquisa analisa dois cursos de Letras de uma universidade pública do Paraná buscando responder: que diálogo existe entre os Projetos Político-Pedagógicos dos cursos e os planos de ensino de suas disciplinas voltadas à formação do professor de LP com o que preconizam as DCE? Os resultados indicam que o diálogo com as DCE é distinto nos dois cursos. O primeiro se pauta pela concepção de linguagem das DCE e algumas disciplinas não só discutem sua proposta de ensino como propõem o estudo dos gêneros nos moldes bakhtinianos. O segundo, embora se paute pela mesma concepção de linguagem, adota um eixo organizador para as disciplinas contrário aos pressupostos bakhtinianos para o estudo da língua.
