Resumo: Beginning to the wonderful world, the fairy tales genre has always influenced strongly to people, by carrying within itself the essence of human nature, complex, mystical, uncertain. The survey of the state of the art confirms that there is an expressive volume of academic works developed on fairy tales, especially the traditional ones, both in the area of Literature and Education. Nevertheless, although much studied, the genre has been focused, essentially, by the prism of the literature, that is, understood as literary genre, not as a discursive genre in the sense attributed to it by the Bakhtin Circle; then, it results in a categorization that does not involve all the Bakhtinian dimensions/categories about the genres. There is a significant matter in dealing, for example, with the concept of the traditional fairy tale genres, wonderful tale and myth, belonging to the Wonderful line (COELHO, 2000), but not at all, constituting a single genre. This work, therefore, based on the postulations of the Circle of Bakhtin, aims to present the categorization of the traditional fairy tale discursive genre, from the Bakhtinian view, distinguishing it from the wonderful tale and myth genres. The categorization, therefore, is based on the dimensions postulated by Bakhtin (2003): thematic content, compositional construction and style, associated with the conditions of production. The presented description is the result of the analysis about a representative corpus, constituted of ten tales belonging to traditional fairy tales genre.

The categorization, therefore, is based on the dimensions postulated by Bakhtin (2003): thematic content, compositional construction and style, associated with the conditions of production. The presented description is the result of the analysis about a representative corpus, constituted of ten tales belonging to traditional fairy tales genre.
