Resumo: | Whereas the saying is always done through categories of texts (types, subtypes, genders, species) and that the purpose of language teaching is to develop communicative competence (ability to produce and understand texts in specific situations of communicative interaction) and that then language teaching must necessarily be linked to these categories of text, considering its characteristics, this article aims to assist the teacher in the use of textual typology for language teaching. For this, it presents a theoretical reference on typology that seeks to instrumentalize the teacher in the organization of a teaching centered on typology and then discusses fundamental aspects in the relationship between typology and language teaching and finally presents examples that aim to show the teacher how to concretize the theory in activities for education. |

For this, it presents a theoretical reference on typology that seeks to instrumentalize the teacher in the organization of a teaching centered on typology and then discusses fundamental aspects in the relationship between typology and language teaching and finally presents examples that aim to show the teacher how to concretize the theory in activities for education.Considerando que o dizer sempre se faz por meio de categorias de textos (tipos, subtipos, gêneros, espécies) e que o objetivo do ensino de língua é desenvolver a competência comunicativa (capacidade de produzir e compreender textos em situações específicas de interação comunicativa) e que então o ensino de língua precisa estar necessariamente vinculado a estas categorias de texto, considerando suas características, este artigo objetiva auxiliar o professor no uso da tipologia textual para o ensino de língua. Para isso apresenta um referencial teórico sobre tipologia que busca instrumentalizar o professor na organização de um ensino centrado em tipologia e a seguir comenta aspectos fundamentais na relação entre tipologia e ensino de língua e finalmente apresenta exemplos que objetivam mostrar ao professor como concretizar a teoria em atividades de ensino.
