Historical Sociolinguistics, Philology and Digital Humanities: an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach to nineteenth-century manuscripts from Rio Grande de São Pedro

Resumo: This article aims to build the sociocultural profile of the first secretary of the captaincy of Rio Grande de São Pedro by analyzing the indirect documentation and graphic variations present in nineteenth-century manuscripts. The theoretical framework of this study is Historical Sociolinguistics and its relationship with Philology and Digital Humanities. The results obtained through the use of the AntConc software tools made it possible to identify the hit/miss rates of etymology in the corpus. The results identify the writer’s knowledge of the Latin language.
