Permanent health education about Monkeypox in Family Health Units: an experience report

This text aims to describe the experience of the Epidemiological Surveillance and health residents from different residency programs, who developed an action of permanent health education aimed at professionals of different categories, allocated in various Family Health Units belonging to the Sanitary District I, located in the city of Recife, State of Pernambuco, Brazil, about the Monkeypox virus. This is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach of the experience report type, systematized according to Oscar Jara’s model and developed through the observation and experience of health residents and the preceptor of the group, in the month of August of 2022. The use of the produced resource served as a guide script for the dialogue with professionals, bringing more clarity about the clinical and chronological evolution of Monkeypox virus, as well as about the flows until then established by health agencies. The experience showed the importance of permanent education actions in health, considering that this space contributed to the clarification of information about the Monkeypox virus, informing and directing health professionals through reliable sources and the creation of an open, democratic, and dynamic space.
