Contextualized training on basic sanitation with the Network of Integrated Agricultural Family Schools in the Semi-arid Region

This experience report describes the training activities on basic sanitation and agricultural reuse in the Agricultural Family Schools (EFA) of the Integrated Agricultural Family Schools Network of the Semiarid (REFAISA) in partnership with the Regional Institute for Appropriate Small Agriculture (IRPAA). The training on rural sanitation was carried out by the IRPAA technical team, in 13 EFA’s of REFAISA’s in the States of Bahia and Sergipe between 2019 and 2021 with young students, monitors, teachers and external partners with the participation of more than 300 people directly affected, with a workload of 12 hours. As a result, there was a gap between Basic Rural Sanitation and the reality of families, the denial of this right in all territories and the need for social organization to achieve social rights.
