Popular culture in the context of Agricultural Family School of Natalandia, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil: contributions and perspectives for the integral education of the subject

Resumo: The article aims to understand how the appreciation of local and/or regional popular culture can contribute to the integral formation of the subject. In addition, it aims to define the concepts of culture and popular culture, identify traits of popular culture in the context of Agricultural Family School (AFS) of Natalandia, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil (AFS), and understand the EFAN professional's view of local/regional popular culture. The study is characterized as field research, framed in a qualitative approach. As for the procedures, a semi-structured interview was carried out through the Zoom Platform. A literature review was also carried out, through the survey of articles and books by renowned authors, such as Santaella (2003), Santos (1983), Souza and Pereira (2014), Lopes and Macedo (2011), Pessoa (2018), Benjamin (1996), among others who discuss the concepts of Culture and Popular Culture. The content itself and the data were critically analyzed. The results revealed that there are numerous pedagogical strategies to help students, especially those from AFS, in valuing and approaching local/regional popular culture. Therefore, when working with manifestations of popular culture at school, it is possible for the individual to develop political, class, belonging, valuing their living space and strengthening peasant identity.

Além disso, visa definir os conceitos de cultura e de cultura popular, identificar traços da cultura popular no contexto da Escola Família Agrícola (EFAN) de Natalândia e perceber a visão do profissional da EFAN acerca da cultura popular local/regional. O estudo se caracteriza como uma pesquisa de campo, enquadrada na abordagem qualitativa. Quanto aos procedimentos, realizou-se uma entrevista semiestruturada, feita por meio da Plataforma Zoom. Realizou-se, também, uma revisão bibliográfica, por meio do levantamento de artigos e livros de renomados autores, como Santaella (2003), Santos (1983), Souza e Pereira (2014), Lopes e Macedo (2011), Pessoa (2018), Benjamin (1996), entre outros que discutem os conceitos de cultura e cultura popular. O conteúdo e os dados foram analisados de forma crítica. Os resultados revelaram que existem inúmeras estratégias pedagógicas para auxiliar os estudantes, em especial os da EFAN, na valorização e aproximação da cultura popular local/regional.
