The pharmacist’s performance in Primary Health Care: experiences from the multiprofessional residency in family health

Resumo: Primary Health Care (PHC) is developed through the Family Health Strategy (ESF), based on the work of a multiprofessional team. In the Santa Rosa, State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, next to the ESF, the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Family Health is developed. The objective of this work is to report the contribuitions of the pharmacist in the PHC, through the experience of two pharmacists. The pharmacist’s role in PHC is performed through the Family Health Support Center, includes actions for dispensing drugs and pharmaceutical guidance, home visits, basic support to health teams, individual and shared care, participation in interdisciplinary health groups, besides participating in the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Commission. The pharmacist at APS, aside from acting in the management of the drug, assists in the construction of the health care of the users, accompanying their treatments, contributing with the team in promoting health and quality of life for these subjects.

No município de Santa Rosa, Rio Grande do Sul, junto à ESF é desenvolvido o Programa de Residência Multiprofissional em Saúde da Família. O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar as contribuições do farmacêutico na APS, a partir da experiência de duas farmacêuticas. A atuação do farmacêutico na APS acontece por meio do Núcleo de Apoio à Saúde da Família e inclui ações de dispensação de medicamentos e orientação farmacêutica, visitas domiciliares, apoio matricial às equipes de saúde, atendimentos individuais e compartilhados, participação em grupos de saúde interdisciplinares, além da participação na Comissão de Farmácia e Terapêutica.
