This work aims to relate actions of an extension project developed in a public Preschool in the city of Diamantina, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Looking into the perspective of the importance of playing in the formal space of education, this work fits as a report of the experience about the construction of a playground with tires in a site lacking real function of school, resulting from a college extension project. We understand that this kind of action is really important to the society, especially, to Preschool. From tires, wood, ropes, and other materials, the school playground emerged, being used in the available time for the children free-time activities and in pedagogical practices linked to body manifestation of gymnastics. We still registered that such project favored collective actions and the members of the community feel of belonging somewhere, in which, thanks to the parents, the managers and the children participation, the school environment became more enjoyable and playful, favoring propositions that stimulate and support scholars’ motion.
