Resumo: This work aims to relate actions of an extension project developed in a public Preschool in the city of Diamantina, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Looking into the perspective of the importance of playing in the formal space of education, this work fits as a report of the experience about the construction of a playground with tires in a site lacking real function of school, resulting from a college extension project. We understand that this kind of action is really important to the society, especially, to Preschool. From tires, wood, ropes, and other materials, the school playground emerged, being used in the available time for the children free-time activities and in pedagogical practices linked to body manifestation of gymnastics. We still registered that such project favored collective actions and the members of the community feel of belonging somewhere, in which, thanks to the parents, the managers and the children participation, the school environment became more enjoyable and playful, favoring propositions that stimulate and support scholars’ motion.

Tendo em vista a importância do brincar no espaço formal de educação, o presente trabalho enquadra-se como um relato de experiência sobre a construção de um parque de pneus em espaços subutilizados de uma escola específica, resultado de um projeto de extensão universitária. Entendemos que ações extensionistas são de suma importância para a sociedade, em especial, para a escola básica. A partir de pneus, madeiras, cordas, entre outros materiais, o parquinho da/na escola emergiu, sendo utilizado no tempo disponível para atividades livres das crianças e em práticas pedagógicas intencionalmente organizadas, como, por exemplo, em práticas pedagógicas vinculadas à manifestação corporal da ginástica.
