Memory, history and identity: the case of “escola uspiana de história”

Resumo: This article approachs the text “A escola uspiana de história”, by Maria Helena Rolim Capelato, Raquel Glezer and Vera Lucia Amaral Ferlini, published in 1994 in the journal Estudos Avançados, based on the connection between memory and identity. I intend to discuss the way those three historians from USP have enunciated a historiographic identity in a strong connection with a disciplinary and institutional memory tied to São Paulo University, specially the Faculty of philosophy, Letters and human sciences. Divided into three great moments, the article also relates this enunciation of identity to the brazilian historiography in the latest decades of last century. How a historiographic identity from USP was produced, written and enunciated? That’s the issue of the following text.

That’s the issue of the following text.  Este artigo discute o texto “A escola uspiana de história”, de Maria Helena Rolim Capelato, Raquel Glezer e Vera Lucia Amaral Ferlini, publicado em 1994 na revista Estudos Avançados, a partir de uma articulação entre memória e identidade. Objetiva-se analisar a maneira como essas três historiadoras uspianas enunciaram uma identidade historiográfica em profunda ligação com uma memória disciplinar e institucional vinculada à Universidade de São Paulo, em especial à Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas. Dividido em três grandes momentos, o trabalho relaciona ainda tal enunciação identitária com a historiografia brasileira das últimas décadas do século passado. Como uma identidade historiográfica uspiana foi produzida, escrita e enunciada?
