Resumo: Analyzing the musical production of national rock relative to the 2013 demonstrations is the intent of the article, that seeks to illuminate the link between music and politics. The popular song is thought of as an artistic language that produces and conveys social representations, which not only mirrors reality, but also constructs it. We examine 8 songs - and their respective video clips – produced by bands of the 1980s generation about the events of june 2013 – that focus on participation and the refusal of authoritarianism, nurturing, in the end, the democratic imaginary in the country. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the understanding of Brazilian society in the present time.

Examinam-se 8 canções – e seus respectivos videoclipes – produzidos pelas bandas da geração 1980 acerca dos acontecimentos de junho de 2013 – que incidem sobre a participação e a recusa do autoritarismo, nutrindo, ao fim, o imaginário democrático no país.
