Resumo: In this article, I deal with the theme of anachronism through the dialogues between history and literature, especially from the works of fiction and essays of writers associated by Latin American magical realism, such as Alejo Carpentier and Gabriel García Márquez. I thus explore aspects of tense and creative discussions about relations concerning texts and contexts by intellectual history. I address the significance of the connection between the vision of reality promoted by this avant-garde literature and the realism of Don Quijote de la Mancha, written by Miguel de Cervantes in the 17th century. Finally, I propose a reflection on the capacity of fiction to continuously modify our conception about the past, the present and the future. My intention is to affirm that historical approach gains by incorporating, as its research problem, the destabilizing character of literature on reality.
