Resumo: This paper aimed to analyze the surface runoff potential in the Water Resources Management Unit 22 (UGRHI 22), Pontal do Paranapanema-SP, in the period of 1962 and 2014, considering different land uses. We employed the Curve Number Model to estimate the surface runoff according the precipitation, soil moisture and the relationship between land cover and soil infiltration capacity. The model used the annual precipitation totals of the historical series from 1960 to 2015, the pedological map and the land cover and land use maps of 1962 and 2014. The model was generated through the map algebra technique with the aid in a GIS. The analysis of the maps allowed identifying areas of the UGRHI that have had changes in the surface runoff due to the changes of the land cover and use. It was possible to observe an increase in the surface runoff due to the replacement of pasture by temporary crops, which in this case, dominantly sugarcane. Confronting in time, the changes in land cover and use showed higher runoff for the 2014 compared to 1962 year.

Confronting in time, the changes in land cover and use showed higher runoff for the 2014 compared to 1962 year.Este trabalho teve o objetivo de analisar o potencial de escoamento superficial na Unidade de Gerenciamento de Recursos Hídricos 22 (UGRHI 22), Pontal do Paranapanema-SP, nos anos de 1962 e 2014, considerando os diferentes usos da terra entre os períodos. O modelo utilizado foi o Curve Number, o qual estima o escoamento superficial a partir da precipitação, da umidade antecedente do solo e da relação entre a cobertura da terra e a capacidade de infiltração do solo. Na aplicação do modelo, foram utilizados os totais anuais de precipitação da série histórica de 1960 a 2015, o mapa pedológico e os mapas de cobertura e uso da terra de 1962 e 2014. O modelo foi gerado através de álgebra de mapas com o auxílio de um SIG. A análise dos mapas permitiu identificar áreas da UGRHI que sofreram alterações no escoamento superficial em função das mudanças da cobertura e uso da terra. Foi possível observar aumento do escoamento superficial em função substituição de pastagem por culturas temporárias, neste caso dominantemente cana-de-açúcar.
