HYPSOMETRIC AND MORPHOSTRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF THE VAZA-BARRIS DOMAIN, SERGIPE, BRAZIL

Resumo: Studies of morphometric and morphostructural parameters are essential for understanding the geomorphological landscape. Quantitatively evaluate the physiographic dynamics and the performance of the drainage network in the modeled. The Vaza-Barris Domain is a geotectonic unit inserted in the Sergipana Folding Range and covers the states of Sergipe and Bahia (Brazil). Four hydrographic basins are included in the unit: Rio Sergipe, Vaza-Barris River, Piauí River and Rio Real. This research analyzes the morphometric indices of hypnometry and morphostructure applied in the areas of the four hydrographic basins, quantitatively evaluating the drainage behavior in the evolutionary process of the morphological landscape and the lithological/structural control in the spatial definition and arrangement of drainage. The methodology consisted of compiling existing data and acquisition of new data through the processing of satellite images and Model Digital Elevation, in the treatment and interpretation for the elucidation of the facts. Avaliam quantitativamente a dinâmica fisiográfica e a atuação da rede de drenagem nos modelados. O Domínio Vaza-Barris é uma unidade geotectônica inserida na Faixa de Dobramentos Sergipana e abrange os estados de Sergipe e Bahia. Inserem-se na unidade quatro bacias hidrográficas: Rio Sergipe, Rio Vaza-Barris, Rio Piauí e Rio Real. Essa pesquisa analisa os índices morfométricos de hipsometria e morfoestrutura aplicados nas áreas das quatro bacias hidrográficas, avaliando quantitativamente o comportamento da drenagem no processo evolutivo da paisagem morfológica e o controle litológico/estrutural na definição e arranjo espacial da drenagem. A metodologia consistiu na compilação dos dados existentes e na aquisição de novos dados através do processamento de imagens de satélite e Modelo Digital de Elevação, no tratamento e interpretação para a elucidação dos fatos. Os índices morfométricos revelaram a intensidade da atuação da rede de drenagem em consonância com a litoestrutura.
