Resumo: This paper aims primarily to identify and characterize landscape units in the Marine Extractive Reserve (RESEX) of the Parnaíba River Delta (henceforth the Parnaíba Delta RESEX), a coastal area in the states of Maranhão and Piauí, Brazil. The theoretical-methodological approach of the study is the concept of geosystems proposed by Georges Bertrand (1968). The results show that the landscape units are intensifiers for the tourism potential of the area, rated by tourists as low, medium or high potential. In order to develop ecotourism in the Parnaíba Delta RESEX, investment in adequate infrastructure is paramount, in addition to investment in tourist guide training (for the community), offering local residents training and workshops to sensitize them and tourists to the use and preservation of natural resources. Therefore, it is important that tourism planning and management be conducted in line with the relevant legal provisions and with the sharing of decision-making power.

L'approche théorico-méthodologique de l'étude est le concept de géosystéme proposée par Georges Bertrand (1968). Les résultats montrent que las unités paysagères sont des intensificateurs du potentiel touristique de la région, ce potentiel étant classé par les touristes comme faible, moyen ou élevé. Afin de développer l'écotourisme dans le Delta do Parnaíba RESEX, il est nécessaire d'investir dans des infrastructures appropriées, ainsi que dans la formation de guides touristiques (résidents de la communauté), en offrant aux résidents locaux des formations et des ateliers pour sensibiliser la communauté et les touristes à l'utilisation et la préservation des ressources naturelles. Par conséquent, il est important que le tourisme passe par une planification et une gestion basées sur le partage du pouvoir de décision et sur des dispositions légales pertinentes.O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a utilização das Unidades da Paisagem para a prática do turismo na Reserva Extrativista Marinha do Delta do Parnaíba. A abordagem teórica-metodológica está pautada na teoria geossistêmica proposta por Bertrand (1968). Metodologicamente, utilizou-se de técnicas de sensoriamento remoto, do geoprocessamento e auxílio do software Qgis 2.18.2 para delimitação e identificação das Unidades de Paisagem. Realizou-se o preenchimento de  uma matriz de interação; aplicação de 71 questionários aos turistas; registro fotográfico; caracterização e relação entre as Unidades de Paisagem e o fluxo turístico. Os resultados evidenciam que as Unidades de Paisagem são intensificadoras do  potencial turístico da área. Com intuito de desenvolver o ecoturismo na RESEX do Delta do Parnaíba é importante também investir na implantação de uma infraestrutura adequada, na formação e na capacitação de guias (moradores das comunidades), promoção de cursos e treinamentos, conscientizando e sensibilizando os moradores locais e turistas no que se refere ao uso e manutenção dos recursos naturais.
