Resumo: In an urban context marked by inequality, violence rates grow and criminal conducts, such as homicides, which shock much of Brazilian society, become commonplace. Starting from a perspective that seeks to relate geography with the theme of criminality, this paper deals with the theme of murders (intentional lethal crimes) in the city of Vila Velha/ES, from 2014 to 2019. Presenting a brief discussion on the dynamics of spatial segregation resulting from the recent urbanization process experienced by the cities of the Metropolitan Region of Grande Vitória (RMGV), this paper sought to understand, through the spatialization of data on murders, how this type of offense can be understood as an aspect, a face of violence that characterizes the rapid process of capitalist growth of the city in recent decades.

En un contexto urbano marcado por la desigualdad, las tasas de violencia crecen y las prácticas delictivas, como los homicidios, que afectan a gran parte de la sociedad brasileña, se vuelven comunes. Partiendo de un sesgo que busca relacionar la geografía con el tema de la criminalidad, este trabajo aborda el tema de los asesinatos (delitos intencionales letales) en la ciudad de Vila Velha / ES, de 2014 a 2019. Presentando una breve discusión sobre la dinámica de la segregación resultado del reciente proceso de urbanización experimentado por las ciudades de la Región Metropolitana de la Gran Vitória (RMGV), este artículo buscó comprender, a través de la espacialización de los datos sobre asesinatos, cómo este tipo de homicidio puede entenderse como un aspecto, un rostro de la violencia que caracteriza el rápido proceso de crecimiento capitalista de la ciudad en las últimas décadas. Dans un contexte urbain marqué par les inégalités, les taux de violence augmentent et les pratiques criminelles telles que les homicides, qui touchent une grande partie de la société brésilienne, deviennent courantes. Dans une perspective qui cherche à mettre en relation la géographie avec le thème de la criminalité, cet article aborde la question des meurtres (crimes létaux intentionnels) dans la ville de Vila Velha/ES, de 2014 à 2019. En présentant une brève discussion de la dynamique de la ségrégation spatiale résultant du récent processus d'urbanisation vécu par les villes de la région métropolitaine de Grande Vitória (RMGV), cet article a cherché à comprendre, à travers la spatialisation des données sur les meurtres, comment ce type d'homicide peut être compris comme un aspect, un visage de la violence qui caractérise le processus rapide de croissance capitaliste de la ville au cours des dernières décennies.Em uma conjuntura urbana marcada pela desigualdade, crescem os índices de violência e  tornam-se banais condutas criminosas, como os homicídios, que chocam grande parte da sociedade brasileira. Iniciando de uma perspectiva que busca relacionar a geografia com a temática da criminalidade, este trabalho trata do tema dos assassinatos (crimes letais intencionais) na cidade de Vila Velha/ES, de 2014 a 2019.
