Resumo: | This research seeks to analyze, from an integrated perspective, the socio-environmental vulnerability of the Choró river basin in the state of Ceará, Northeastern Brazil. Through the ecodynamics of Tricart (1977) with adaptations of Souza (2000) it is possible to establish the conditions of environmental vulnerability of environmental systems. The IPECE (2010) methodology was applied with adaptations by Medeiros (2014) to generate the Social Vulnerability Index - IVS, based on socioeconomic data from the IBGE census sectors regarding the requirements: education, income, social situation and infrastructure/ housing. Then, the systematized data and/or IVS, by sector, were spatialized, obtaining the social vulnerability of the area. The overlapping of the mentioned vulnerabilities data resulted in the socio-environmental vulnerability map. It was found that some areas that are more environmentally vulnerable to anthropic interventions coexist with the most socioeconomically vulnerable population. Urbanized areas contain the highest social vulnerabilities. Thus, it is observed that the analysis of socio-environmental vulnerability is very relevant for the sustainable development of the watershed. Based on this information, it is possible to propose strategic actions capable of providing sustainability and improving the quality of life of the population, collaborating, therefore, with the territorial organization of the area. |
