WEATHERING OF GRANITE ROCKS AND PEDOGENESIS IN THE PARAIBA SEMIARID: PALEOCLIMATE RELICS OF PICO DO JABRE (PB)

Resumo: | The granite reliefs are present in the different climatic domains of the planet. However, its exposure is intensified in regions with a tropical climate, in Brazil these landscapes are commonly found in the northern Northeast (region of the depressão sertaneja). Thus, the objective of this research was to verify geological, geomorphological and pedological elements of granitic rocks that corroborate with the hypothesis of evolution of the landscape in Pico do Jabre paying attention to the Etchplanation (genesis of the landscape) and Pediplanation (entrance of the semi-arid climate and dismantling of the mantles change). In these reliefs it is possible to find different stages of development of crystalline nuclei such as pre-exfoliation, alteration mantle and exhumed blocks. In the external structures of the blocks, different forms of weathering occur, such as Tafoni and Gnamas.. All these features are exhumed today due to the entry of the semi-arid climate in the region where the erosive processes resulting from Pediplanation prevail. |

Entretanto, sua exposição se intensifica nas regiões de clima tropical, no Brasil essas paisagens são comumente encontradas no Nordeste setentrional (depressão sertaneja). Assim, o objetivo dessa pesquisa foi verificar elementos geológicos, geomorfológicos e pedológicos de rochas graníticas que corroboram com a hipótese de evolução da paisagem no Pico do Jabre atentando para a Etchplanação (gênese da paisagem) e Pediplanação (entrada do clima semiárido e desmonte de mantos de alteração). Nestes relevos é possível encontrar diferentes estágios de desenvolvimento de núcleos cristalinos como a pré-esfoliação, o manto de alteração e os blocos exumados. Já nas estruturas externas dos blocos ocorre diferentes formas de intemperismo como os Tafoni e Gnamas.
