Resumo: Studies about hydrographical basin are relevant to geographical science. One of thefocuses of those studies is the morphometric analysis and its quantitativeinterpretations. The main goal of this essay is based on the accomplishment of themorphometric analysis of the Padre Stream basin, situated in Ponta Grossa – PR. Themethodology used includes the morphometric analysis and the classification throughStraler‟s hierarchy being possible to do the morphometric accounts, using linear, areaand hypsometrical analysis of the drainage network. We looked for the relation betweenthe drainage pattern and the different rocks basement as Itarare Group, composed ofpermeable rocks, and Serra Geral and Ponta Grossa Formation, which are composed ofimpermeable rocks, besides, in the last one, there are fracture and faults in the area.The geological aspects were very important to establish the correlation between thedrainage pattern and the morphometry. The research results permitted to conclude thatthe drainage pattern of the Padre Stream hydrographical basin differ from its heads,being dendritic and straight through the main river.

Um dos enfoques para esses estudos é a análise morfométrica e as interpretações quantitativas das mesmas. O objetivo principal deste trabalho foi realizar a análise morfométrica da bacia hidrográfica do Arroio do Padre, no município de Ponta Grossa- Pr. A metodologia utilizada inclui a análise morfométrica e a classifição através da hierarquia de Straler para a realização dos cálculos morfométricos, no qual são utilizadas análises Lineares, Areais e Hipsométricas da rede de drenagem. Assim, procurou-se relacionar o padrão de drenagem com os diferentes substratos rochosos como os do Grupo Itararé que apresenta rochas mais permeáveis, os da Formação Serra Geral e Formação Ponta Grossa que apresentam rochas impermeáveis, a esta última somado ainda a presença de faturamento e falhas na área. Os aspectos geológicos foram de vital importância para o estabelecimento das correlações entre o padrão de drenagem e a morfometria.
