LITERARY GEOGRAPHY IN PARQUE INDUSTRIALBY PATRÍCIA GALVÃO

Resumo: Industrialization brought with it an economic, political and social development for the urban space. To understand this process we count on the contribution of the Geography of Industries. However, Literature, which has been more vigorously inserted in geographic studies since 1970, is also liableto exploring the industrial phenomenon. Relating Geography and Literature, we propose a Literary Geography of Industriescapable of examiningin the literary writings the dynamics related, directly or indirectly, to industrialization. The novel Parque Industrialpublished in 1933, by Patrícia Galvão, portrays the life of the workers of the Brás in São Paulo and is an example of the possibility of working on a Literary Geography of Industries.

Para entender esse processo contamos com a contribuição da Geografia das Indústrias. Entretanto, a Literatura, que desde 1970 vem sendo inserida com mais vigor nos estudos geográficos, se mostra também passível de explorar o fenômeno industrial. Relacionando Geografia e Literatura, propomos uma Geografia Literária das Indústrias capaz de examinar nos escritos literários as dinâmicas relacionadas, direta ou indiretamente, à industrialização.
