Resumo: | Abstract: The issue of this paper deals with the assumption that we are in the middle of the crisis in the so called humanism. It is purported that along the line of Sir Isaiah's Berlin main philosophical trends (the assessment of historicity, the notion of liberty, pluralism, tolerance, commitment, interculturality, among many others) may be taken as general guidelines in order to find a sort of way out which entails necessarily the revision of educational processes together with its axiological grounds. Keywords: Isaiah Berlin; Philosophy of Education; Theory of Culture. Resumen: Si nos encontramos realmente sumidos en una crisis del humanismo, de cuyo análisis y discusi6n partimos en este artfculo, los ejes principales del pensamiento de l. Berlin (afirmaci6n de la historicidad, libertad, pluralismo, tolerancia, compromiso, interculturalidad...) pueden muy bien orientarnos hacia una salida que, necesariamente, pasa por la revisi6n de los procesos educativos y de sus bases axiolögicas.
