En Appendice une bibliographie essentielle sul le sujet de l' 'union'.*Professora de Filosofia da Universidade do Salento (Lecce).Le débat sur l'union dans les lettres de René Descartes: un esquisseRésumé: Le thème de l'union entre l'âme et le corps, qui prend forme - quoique problématiquem­ent - à partir des Meditationes de prima philosophia de 1641, fait l'objet de croissant intérêt de René Descartes dans le contexte de sa correspondance avec la princesse Élisabeth de Bohême. L'intense correspondance que le philosophe nourrira, à partir de 1643, avec Élisabeth se présente en tant qu'un parfait laboratoire de la pensée - selon l'expression efficace de Jean-Robert Armogathe - dans lequel le thème de l'union est explicité et s'ouvre vers de nouveaux et originals développements par rapport aux Meditationes : il suffit d'évoquer ici, à titre d'exemple, la réflexion sur les trois notions primitives exposée à Élisabeth dans la lettre du 21 mai 1643. Dans ce contexte, un aspect particulièrement pertinent est celui du phénomène des passions, traité dès le début de la correspondance. L'écriture des Passions de l'âme ne fera que signaler le point d'arrivée d'un long parcours, pendant lequel la pensée du philosophe est nourrie par l'échange épistolaire avec la princesse de Bohême. Outre la correspondance avec Élisabeth, il prendra en compte d'autres parties des correspondances ayant comme thème l'union, par exemple, celle avec Regius (1641-1642) et celle avec Henry More (1648-1649).Mots-clés: Descartes. O tema da união da alma e do corpo, que se delineia - ainda que problematicamente - a partir das Meditationes de prima philosophia de 1641, torna-se objeto de interesse cres­cente de René Descartes no contexto da correspondência com a princesa Elisabeth da Boêmia. A intensa correspondência que a partir de 1643 o filósofo nutrirá com Elisabeth apresenta-se como um perfeito laboratório de pensamento - segundo a eficaz expressão de Jean-Robert Armogathe - em que a união é tematizada abrin­do-se para desenvolvimentos novos e originais em relação às Meditationes: basta aqui recordar, a título de exemplo, a reflexão sobre três noções primitivas que é apresentada a Elisabeth na carta de 21 de maio de 1643. Em tal contexto, um aspecto particularmente relevante é o do fenômeno das paixões, que é tematizado desde o início da correspondência. A redação das Passions de l'âme não fará senão marcar o ponto de chegada de um longo percurso, em que o pensamento do filósofo nutre-se da troca epistolar com a princesa da Boêmia. Além da correspondência com Elisabeth, serão ainda levadas em consideração também outras partes da correspondência em que será tematizada a união, por exemplo, a correspondência com Regius (1641-1642) e a com Henry More (1648-1649).Palavras-chave: Descartes. The theme of the union of the soul and the body, which is delineated, albeit problematically, from the Meditation of the prima philosophia of 1641, becomes the object of increasing interest of René Descartes in the context of correspondence with Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia . The intense correspondence that the philosopher will nourish with Elisabeth in 1643 presents himself as a perfect laboratory of thought - according to the effective expression of Jean-Robert Armogathe - in which the union is thematized by opening itself up to new and original developments in It is enough to recall, as an example, the reflection on three primitive notions which is presented to Elisabeth in the letter of May 21, 1643. In this context, a particularly relevant aspect is that of the phenomenon of the passions, which is since the beginning of correspondence. The writing of the Passions de l'âme will only mark the point of arrival of a long journey, in which the thought of the philosopher is nourished by the epistolary exchange with the Princess of Bohemia. In addition to the correspondence with Elisabeth, other parts of the correspondence will also be taken into account in which the union will be thematized, for example correspondence with Regius (1641-1642) and Henry More (1648-1649).Keywords: Descartes.
